Marble female figurine
Marble female figurine
One more exquisite specimen of the Dokathismata variety, one of the most elegant and most ‘schematic’ varieties of the canonical type. The figurine is distinguished by its slender form, flat surfaces and undulating outlines on the sides. The triangular head is set obliquely on the neck and inclines slightly to the right. The only facial feature, executed in relief, is the prominent aquiline nose. In the abdominal area horizontal incisions render seven creases, while the pubic triangle is incised.
