The perfect movie scenery
The Dam
One of the most famous films of the Greek cinema, dealing with the German Occupation and the anniversary of October 28th, is the film "Lieutenant Natasha". It was written and directed by Nikos Foskolos. Aliki Vougiouklaki played the role of Natasa and Dimitris Papamichael of Orestes. The film had many outdoor shootings in Greece and abroad, numerous costumes and it was generally considered a huge production for its time. The characteristic scene with the death of Orestes on the marble steps was filmed at the dam of Marathon which was in itself a very impressive scenery, especially given the time. The film premiered on December the 12th, 1970, and had a huge success. It came first among 87 films produced in the same season and it held the first screening ticket record (751,117).
