The Victoria mansion
The Mordoch building
In 1921 Sam Mordoch bought together with Haïm Benrubi the plot 11/1, at the corner of the streets Tsimiski and Komninon. In 1927, Jacques Moshe was commissioned to design the building, which was completed by 1929. The building is characterized by the oblique side at the corner of Tsimiski and Komninon streets. The building housed the insurance company "Victoria of Berlin", represented by Sam Mordoch. In the press of the period the building is referred to as "Victoria Mansion". Sam Mordoch was also mentioned as the building’s co-owner even after the war.
