The businessman Pardo
The Pardo businesses
Before World War II, the merchant Haim Pardo was active in Thessaloniki. His business was known as the House of Pardiko. He lived with his wife Eugenia and their three children, at 35, Tsimiski Street, at the height of Aristotelous Street. Just opposite his house, at 22 Tsimiski Street, was his shop, located on the ground floor, just on the right side of the building, with household items, such as lamps, lighting fixtures, cables, gas stoves, bathtubs, and water heaters. Haim Pardo was a clever and self-made man. After years of working with the Benrubi family, Pardo became the co-owner of a business of electric appliances, located in Komninon street. When the partnership arrived at an end, Pardo, in 1924, had his own business here on the ground floor of the building. In 1935, he bought a part of it.
