The Panathenaic Procession (The Frieze)
The Parthenon Frieze is a continuous strip of low-relief sculptures adorning the upper part of the temple’s cella. It consists of 115 blocks and is 160 meters long and 1.02 meters high. It does not depict a mythological subject but the Great Panathenaea, Athens’ greatest festival honouring the Goddess Athena.
