The last village
Tarampados
Tarampados is the last village built in Tinos. A plague struck the island in the middle of the 17th century and desolated many communities in the area. The survivors decided to create a new village. The process lasted from the middle of the 17th century to the early 18th, and they called the new settlement Tarampados after a local landowner named Tarampas. Tarampados is a verdant village that seems untouched by the passage of time. Most of its architectural features and the main entrance arch remain unchanged.
