The stone Clock Tower, as the locals call it, is perched on the edge of a cliff, welcoming visitors to the city. It was built in the 18th century as a bell tower for the Church of Eisodia tis Theotokou (the Presentation of Mary). Since then, although struck by earthquakes and war, it continues to stand proudly and tell stories of the cryer and the locals who used it as a refrigerator or a hiding place.
