The cave of Pan
The corykian cave
In the dark passages of the cave the stalactites weave stories of people who placed in its openings idols of female forms and animals, vessels and stone tools, and who worshipped Pan and the Corycian Nymphs, as well as of people who held korykes, bags made from animal hides, and, millennia later, hid there to protect themselves from the enemy.
