Agia Sotira, as the Metamorfosi Sotiros Monastery is also known, was most probably built in the 7th century A.D. on a lush green hill. It survived a lot of damage and managed to provide a hospitable refuge both during Ottoman rule and during the Nazi occupation, always holding within it many relics and icons.
