The artificial lake of Smokovo, on the slopes of Agrafa, was inaugurated in 2002 and covers an area of 8.5 sq.km., with a capacity of 237,000,000 cubic meters of water. Its purpose is to irrigate the southeastern part of the plain of the Regional Unit of Karditsa and the northwestern part of the plain of Domokos province in the Fthiotida Regional Unit. Around the lake, a hydropower station has also been constructed.
