The unknown famous city
Ancient Pharcadon
Pharcadon is mentioned in historical sources, such as Strabo and other ancient writers, as the second-largest city after Trikke, the capital of Estieotida, which also included Pellina. Its reputation was so great that Pindar himself visited it. Although it is not known when it was founded, significant finds (such as coins) provide evidence for when it was destroyed (4th century A.D.)
