The silver river
Peneus river
The river of Thessaly, which according to Greek mythology was the son of Oceanus and Tethys, flows down from Pindus mountain. As it collects all the water from the converging tributaries of Western Thessaly, it reaches the plains of Thessaly, where, after crossing the passage of the Valley of Tempe, it flows out into the Aegean Sea, creating its delta near the town of Stomio.
