A reception of river rocks
Monastery of Saint Nikanoras
The monastery church that visitors gaze upon as they cross the Monastery Gate walking on cobbled river rocks, is an Athonite-type church decorated with countless murals, attributed to the renowned painter Franco Katelano. The narthex of the church recounts the life of St Nikanor, while its interior holds his remains, as well as those of many other saints.
