The church that flows in time
Church of Saint Nikolaos Perivoliou
Slate slabs, tufa, and limestone have been held in their stony hands domes in the color of granite, in the worship of St Nicholas since 1803. In the area where Grevena meets the village of Perivoli, a post-Byzantine church (cross-in-square with four columns and a dome) stands beside a branch of Aliakmonas river, hiding among its murals stories of the Dodekaorton and the Passions, decorated by the depictions of nature carved into its wooden iconostasis.
