Kastri. Grevena
On the western slopes of Pindus mountain range, between the villages of Polyneri and Alatopetra, the fortified acropolis of a city emerges. It’s breath having crossed prehistoric times, it bestowed memory and glory to the kingdom of Macedonia from the 4th to the 1st century B.C. and was extinguished, defeated, at approximately 150 A.D. The ruins of a sanctuary, strong walls, temples, an enormous double Doric stoa, and a large building, stand witness to the importance of a city that is unknown to this day, but which held a strategic position, controlling all movement between Epirus and Macedonia.
