The West House had two storeys and a total area of 389 square meters (4187 square feet). This spacious building has a porch that projects into Triangle Square while leaving a passage for pedestrians heading towards Telchines street. The porch is a later addition to the main building as attested by the fact that its wall does not interlock with the walls of the West House. It seems that the owners decided to recycle debris after the earthquake that struck Akrotiri in the mid-seventeenth century BCE and built an encasing that protected the main entrance to the house and created a space for a room above the porch that overlooked Triangle Square.
