Better late than never
Cathedral of Barcelona
The Cathedral is dedicated to the city’s patron Saint Eulalia and the Holy Cross. It is commonly known as La Seu since it is the seat of the diocese. Its construction began in 1298 at the site of an original 4th-century church. Few people back then would dare to imagine that the project would finally be completed centuries later, in 1913, thanks to the initiative of the businessman and banker Manuel Girona Agrafel who had the facade and lantern tower designed in a neo-Gothic style.
