The Mangrove ecosystem
The mangrove ecosystem
The "Mangrove Forest" is a special ecosystem that mainly develops in estuaries. Its main feature is the dense "entanglement" that the roots of the trees form with each other, above the sea surface. Their deep roots basically filter water from various chemicals and compounds, before it unites with the sea and oceans. Also, the entanglement of the roots actually allows the trees to handle the tidal effect. Fish, many crabs and small shrimp are among the most common visitors to mangrove ecosystems. The reason why animals choose to live among these trees is primarily because they can very easily find their food. In addition, the formation of their roots helps fish find shelter.
