Lykouresi Holy Monastery or Panagia tou Myrou (Virgin Mary of the Myrrh) is located in the canyon of the small river Aimon. It was founded in the 15th century and stands out for its nine domes. Popular tradition puts its name down to the fact that for many years it was a refuge for wolves, while in 1821 it was the base of Athanasios Diakos in his efforts to liberate Livadia.
