Wine gladden’s a man’s heart
Kachrimanis’ Grocery Store
Kachrimanis’ grocery store provided a welcoming shelter for 25 years. The grocer, Dimitris Kachrimanis, respected Papadiamantis and cared for him as if he was a member of his own family. But he took care to hide his drinking habit, either by retiring to the back of the shop or by hiding the glass behind sacks.
