The writing desk, along with its small chair and the rest of Amalia’s personal belongings were taken from the Old Royal Palace to the New Royal Palace (today’s Parliament) on the last day of the move. It was placed in the study, at the corner opposite the big sofa. On that day (4/8/1843), she wrote the first letter to her father from her new residence.
