Shepherd and god
The shrine of Pan
Pan, a goat-legged horned god, is closely related to the region of Arcadia in Peloponnese and used to inhabit the wilderness (forests or mountains). Although unconventional by form and character, he is worshipped nearly at the same extent as the Olympian gods. He truly reflects folk traits by being a shepherd, spending his time mostly in the countryside, playing his flute, loving dancing and revelries. That is why he is considered as the patron of farmers, breeders and fishermen.
