With Porta del Paradiso on your right, go forward and exit the grand hall. Pass through rooms 7 and 12, then enter room 8, which is in front of you. Here, at the right end of the room (opposite where you are standing), you will find Donatello’s Penitent Mary Magdalene. The room is part of the old museum. Here, the grand scale of the Sala del Paradiso gives way to a more intimate setting, linked to the idea of the private religiosity experienced in a church.
