Looking at the Pietà, pass the door on your right, and continue straight ahead; then, climb the stairs. This staircase is called “Lo scalene nuovo,” and it is recognized as an exceptional item designed by architects Adolfo Natalini, Piero Guicciardini and Marco Magni. It leads viewers to the upper floors and to the former “Teatro degli Intrepidi,” replacing the neo-Renaissance staircase built in 1891.
