Light and Shadow
Carlo Ciarli
For the 1st Art Symposium, the artist Carlo Ciarli (b.1938) created a new installation of the “Light and Shadow” piece, originally presented in his first solo exhibition in 1986. His artistic practice is characterized by the bold use of simple materials and intense spirituality. In this piece, using materials indicative of the Mediterranean scene: stone, yellow color, light and shadow, the artist creates a work in direct dialogue with the surrounding space, with references to the recovery and drastic transformation of the natural landscape by the human civilization, without trespassing or devaluing it.
