Mark
Tamas Trombitas
In his artistic practice, Hungarian artist Tamas Trombitas (b.1958) uses human creation, natural and spiritual, and combines them in creating new associations, in an attempt to expand the creative means of his time. “Mark” (1993), presented at the 3rd Art Symposium, includes metallic cubes which are joined by a pyramidal luminous blue tape and form the letters of the word MARK, without any indication about whether the word refers to a verb or a name.. This piece deviates from the typical fragmentation of image, which in this case is reminiscent of excavation findings. The blue light transforms the metal structures into fragments of a real experience, while, at the same time, revealing the immaterial substance of the piece, stressing its supernatural and spiritual essence.
