The Ottomans and the Devil
Seytan Bazar
There were approximately 150 words to describe the representative of absolute evil in the old Turkish religion, many centuries before their appearance on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Following their conversion to Islam, the Turks accepted the basic doctrines of their new religion regarding the Devil. Satan was an angel who refused to bow before Adam, since the first man was made of clay while the Devil was made of fire and is therefore superior to man. Cursed for eternity, Satan always strives to lead humans and angels astray until the Day of Judgment. He is responsible for everything that does not turn out well, but he is also a constant scrutinizer of humanity’s genuine faith.
