This tour begins at the Porta Nuova at the intersection of Piazza Daniele Manin and Via Giovanni Battista Niccolini. Pisa itself is quite small and walkable, so you are good to walk here from anywhere in the historic centre. The whitewashed arch of the Porta Nuova is visible through the multiple vendor stalls that dot its exterior. Once near, and peering through the opening of the Gate, you will catch a glimpse of the Leaning Tower straight ahead.
