Mosaics and worship
Byzantine Museum of Fthiotida
Unique in Central Greece, the Byzantine Museum of Fthiotida in Ypati exhibits the rich findings of the area, in a restored two floor building of the Kapodistrian Barracks, built-in 1836. The ground floor accommodates the early Christian mosaics of Fthiotida, while on the upper floor the forms of worship, used during the early Christian and Byzantine periods, are presented, as well as part of the coin collection of the Ypatian Constantine Kotsilis, which includes over 3.000 coins from different chronological periods up to modern times.
