After the war, Solomon Gusman worked at the Sabunchu hospital as well as teaching at the Medical Institute. His wife, Lola Barsuk, worked as a linguist and researcher at the Institute of Foreign Languages and later at the Mirza Fatali Akhundov Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute of Languages. Prior to her career as a foreign language expert, she had been an actress.
