The bridge consists of 14 spans and has a total length of 275 metres and a width of 8 metres. Its multi-span structure allows the bridge to remain undamaged even after powerful mudflows and floods that raise the river’s water level. This is the only 19th-century bridge of such design in Azerbaijan. Today the bridge offers a romantic view of Red Village and is used only by pedestrians. It offers easy access from the oldest park in the city, Nizami Park, to Red Village. The bridge is protected by the state as an architectural monument.
