When Albert Agarunov was buried, the mullah and the rabbi prayed at the same time. He was buried in the Alley of Martyrs in Baku. Albert had every chance to leave Azerbaijan but he stayed and fought for his homeland. His heroic life therefore remains a symbol of the centuries-long Jewish-Muslim unity and brotherhood in Azerbaijan. Albert remained a hero and source of motivation for all of Azerbaijan during the Second Karabakh War in 2020, when Azerbaijan liberated its lands after 30 years of occupation.
