Merchants of Red Village
Aghababayev's house
At the beginning of the 20th century trade was the main occupation of the residents of Red Village. Some were very successful and had retail outlets not only in Red Village but also in Guba and Khachmaz. Among them were the owners of this impressive house, the Agababayev family, who traded carpets. Unfortunately the building is currently closed but it is worth stopping to admire the intricate architectural features of the front facade from the small yard in front of the building.
