Salli Edelnand was born in 1924 and his sister Ida in 1928. Ida’s nickname was Püppchen or little doll, because she was so delicate. Both attended the Jewish school at Westendorf No. 15 - the building still exists today and is located in the backyard behind the passageway.Salli received religious instruction from Rabbi Frankl in the Klaus Synagogue and sang in the synagogue choir. Ida had several close friends she spent a lot of time with: Lilly Cohn, Ruth Lindheimer and Ruth Tuchler. They all lived on the Plantage, a park in the center of Halberstadt. This will be the next stop on our tour, which will be about the Lindheimer family.
