Bruno Bendix (born June 22, 1863 in Halle an der Saale) operated a piano rental and repair shop. His death certificate lists the additional occupation of “music teacher”. His business in Halberstadt was centrally located in Breitem Weg No. 63, where his apartment was also located. The business location was divided into two parts: on the right was Bruno Bendix’ Pianoforte Magazin piano shop and on the left his wife Marianne ran a corsetry and lingerie store. The business would later be run by their daughter Johanna (Bendix) Kratz, who was born in 1892. Bruno Bendix’ sisters Therese (born April 6, 1872 in Schönebeck), Else (born October 13, 1882 in Halberstadt) and Hedwig (born January 14, 1885 in Halberstadt) also ran successful corsetry shops in Aschersleben and Bernburg
