Time-resistant walls
Hevra (Talmud Torah) Synagogue
Existing as a synagogue in the 17th century, it has been burnt in fires, remained in ruined states for many years and rebuilt several times throughout its history. Finally, the roof collapse by the end of the 20th century created a lot of damage and loss.
After the completion of rescue works in 2020, the site is open to visits and events. Although damaged, the triple Ehal composition of one main and two small cabinets, still draws attention. From the formely central Tevah exists nothing but tiny pieces of the four pillars. Whereas ground traces from the relocated one can be followed over the pleasant floor tiles. Looking out from the unglassed windows to figure the proximity of three other synagogues’ walls is the great surprise of the Hevra Synagogue.
