The Lubomelski Family tenement house is situated at 8 Rynek Street in Lublin.This building was first mentioned in 1522. In 1540 the house was remodeled in the Renaissance style.Coat of arms of Lubomelski Family, who were the owners of “Zadora” tenement house for a very long time, is placed on the building. Members of the Lubomelski Family over the years were: jurors, members of the city council, mayors and also merchants and property managers. In 1904, the house came into the possession of the Jewish Community in Lublin. Meeting room of the Community and Towarzystwo Pomocy Ubogim Dziewczętom Żydowskim “Hachnasat Kala” (Poor Jewish Girls Aid Society) were situated there.The cellar under Fortuna is situated under this tenement house. In the 17th century the small space of the cellar was completely decorated with polychrome of a secular character.This is the only place we know of, in which the source of the wall decorations full of content was a Book of Friendship - a copy of a memorial book, published in 1596 in Frankfurt on the Main by the de Bry brothers. Fortuna - goddess of fortune, painted on the vault is a patron of this place.Polychrome of the Cellar under Fortuna is a unique monument and the evidence of the rich history of Lublin and his residents.
