The building of the Polish Post, built in the 19th century and redeveloped in 1921, stands out among the buildings surrounding the square.Next to the Post Office building a monument to poet Józef Czechowicz is located. Czechowicz died in this place during the first German air raid of the city on 9 September 1939.
