The baths of the Jews
Yahudi Hamam
Yahudi Hamam (meaning the Jewish Hamam) owes its name to its location since it was erected in the center of the Jewish district. The Hamam was constructed in the beginning of the 16th century by the Turkish officer Halig Agha and had separate areas for men and women, following the typical structure of a bathhouse. The Hamam was also known by some as Pazar Hamam (the Market Hamam), while today it is commonly referred to as “Louloudadika” – for the many florists shops nearby.
