The building located at the intersection of 11, Komsomolskaya and 7, Revolyutsionnaya Streets combines two plots with houses that belonged to two Jewish merchants – Kopel Okun and Yosel Dreitser.Dreitser bought the second plot from Okun, rebuilding the two existing buildings into one large house with drive-through arches and adding on a third floor. In 1910, most of the house served as a 40-room hotel. There were several shops and stores on the ground floor, while residential apartments took up the upper floors. After nationalization in 1920, the hotel became the first Soviet hotel, and several communal apartments were added. During the Great Patriotic War, the building was not damaged, but the facade decor was completely lost and the interior layout was changed during post-war renovations.
