1 Maja Street
Ulica 1 Maja
1 Maja Street runs from the railway station towards the centre of Lublin, through the Piaski district, which used to be a Polish-Jewish suburb. Many 19th century houses have been preserved on the street. Prominent among them are the buildings of the former M. Wolski Agricultural Machine Factory. The original name of the street was Foksal. It was renamed 1 Maja in 1928 by the then socialist-majority Magistrate.
