The sole survivor
The Neighborhood of Mansions
The Patsiadis Mansion is the only surviving building of the so-called “Neighborhood of Mansions,” created by Ernst Ziller (1837-1923). It belonged to the industrialist Panagiotis Patsiadis (1847-1909) who owned a famous flour mill in Kaminia. The Patsiadis Mansion was completed in 1894-1895 and was used, for many years, by the Italian consulate in Piraeus. A coffee-shop and restaurant operated in the ground floor for many decades. Today only part of the mansion survives.
