Façade
Palazzo Falconieri
The façade is not really reflective of Borromini’s style, since he was forced to work with a pre-existing façade that was built in the 16th century. He expanded it and added another floor. The fluted pilasters that end in falcon heads are a reference to the Falconieri name (falcone = falcon) and were influenced by similar pilasters designed by Michelangelo in the Medici chapel.
