Lambros Eftaxias, along with the soprano Alexandra Trianti, founded The Friends of Music Association. He was a founder member of the Society and the first Chairman of the Board of Trustees (1954-1968). After having withdrawn from active participation in the BoD, he was declared Honorary President and Great Benefactor of the Society.
