Human-Headed Winged Lion (Gallery 401)
The following two stops on the tour will take you to the Ancient Near Eastern Art galleries on the opposite side of the Great Hall from the Asian Art galleries. Facing away from the giant mural of the Buddha of Medicine, proceed through the exit on the far right side of the gallery onto the mezzanine overlooking the bustling Great Hall. Continue along the Great Hall balcony past cases displaying Chinese ceramics. At the end of the passage, you’ll enter gallery 401 on your left. Across the room, you’ll immediately see the great winged guardians from ancient Kahlu.
