Hippocampus abdominalis
Vertebrates
It is one of the biggest species of seahorses, reaching a length of 35cm. and the biggest in Australia, where it lives. In its natural habitat, we may spot it between kelps, sea grass and rocky reefs. Each eye moves separately, making it easier for this species to find its food, while it protects itself from predators.
