Ship ahoy!
Santorini Maritime Museum
The maritime museum of Santorini was established in 1990 to document the connection of the islanders to the sea. The collection includes figureheads, ship models, old anchors and small cannons, navigating and shipbuilding tools, rare documents and books, old photographs, charter parties, seamen’s chests and wills. Even if maritime history is not your everyday cup of tea, a visit to the museum will allow you to explore the interior of an old captain’s mansion since the building once belonged to a family of local master mariners.
