His coronation
King Otto
In February 1832, the Great Powers confer in London and offer Ludwig I the Greek Crown for his then seventeen-year-old son, Otto. Ludwig I accepted the offer on condition that the Greek nation agreed with the choice and the Great Powers supported the state financially. As a result, at the age of 17, Otto became King of Greece. In October 1832, the official delegation from Greece arrived in Munich, capital of Bavaria. Head of the delegation, which consisted of twelve members, were the admiral Andreas Miaoulis and the generals Demetrios Plapoutas-Kolliopoulos and Konstantinos Botsaris, fighters of the Greek Revolution. They went to Munich to meet and accompany Otto to Greece. On 25th January 1833, all the above-mentioned disembarked in Nafplio, the then capital of the Greek state. Otto brought a lot of scientists, politicians and administrators with him, as well as 3500 Bavarian troops.
