The establishment of Constitution
King Otto
Otto’s authoritarian governance, Bavarocracy, his feebleness to comprehend local distinctiveness, as well as the intrigues of the Great Powers who promoted their own interests resulted in the Revolution of the 3rd September 1843, which was led by Makriyiannis and Colonel Dimitrios Kallergis. Main demand of this revolution was the establishment of Constitution. Under the pressure of the people, Otto was forced to establish the first Constitution of the Modern Greek State, according to which the King was vested with a lot of power.
