Temple of Isis
From the penis of Karystios, count 35-40 steps (depending on your stride). A narrow, unmarked path is between two weathered column bases on your left. Follow the way towards the museum. You see a tiny house with a slanting tile roof, two windows, and a door between two columns. Turn right and take the cement path to the left, climbing towards the mountain. Your eyes can now rest. There are no ruins for the foreseeable future, while the route offers a splendid panoramic view of downtown Delos. There are piles of rubble everywhere, a reminder of the futility of it all. But your labour is not futile. The most impressive points of interest still await you. After the first flight of steps, catch your breath and look around you. Residential Delos emerges from the earth further up and down the hills around you. Pass a bridge, turn right and follow the dirt path towards the Temple of Isis. Stop in the flat paved courtyard and enjoy.
